About Me
I am a Japanese-American artist. The primary motivator behind my artwork is to show various different things including objects, character tropes, and coming of age stories through the lens of my own female gaze. My specific, unique, and somewhat selfishly child-like view on the world has been majorly impacted by my cultural background and ever-changing setting during my childhood, as I moved back and forth from America to Japan.I think a lot about how pink is not a color used in any higher academia or industries relating to professionalism. Pink deserves to be treated professionally. We need more cute things in America. Anime has a stereotype of pandering to men but it panders to women just as hard if you look in the right places. That’s why I like to use it. To me, it’s symbolic.
